Source text - English Once upon a time, on an uninhabited island on the shores of the Red Sea, there lived a Parsee from whose hat the rays of the sun were reflected in a more-than-oriental splendour And the Parsee lived by the Red Sea with nothing but his hat and his knife and a cooking-stove of the kind that you must particularly never touch. And one day he took flour and water and currants and plums and things, and made himself a cake which was two feet across and three feet thick. It was indeed a Superior Comestible (that's Magic), and he put it on the stove because he was allowed to cook on that stove, and he baked it and e baked it till it was done brown and smelt most sentimental.
Translation - Portuguese Era uma vez um Parsee(*) que vivia em uma ilha desabitada nas margens do Rio Vermelho e cujo chapéu refletia os raios de sol com um esplendor maior que o do levante. E o Parsee vivia perto do Mar Vermelho sem nada além do seu chapéu e da sua faca e do seu forno, que era daquele tipo de coisa que, particularmente, você nunca deveria tocar. E um dia ele pegou farinha e água e groselha e ameixas e açúcar e outras coisas, e fez para ele mesmo um bolo que tinha um metro de comprimento, um metro de largura e um metro e meio de espessura.
