Hana
Kawashima Ransom is an ATA-certified translator (E>J) and an interpreter. She graduated from Tsuda University in Japan, and also has a Master of
Education from University of Texas at Austin. Her 30 years of work as a
translator include press release translating jobs for a newspaper company in New
York and freelance work. She also taught Japanese as a university lecturer and
published an ESL book
which became the #1 bestseller in its category on
Amazon Japan. She started her own YouTube channel in 2020 (https://www.youtube.com/@RansomHanaTV) and is teaching
translation online to prospective translators. She made a debut as an interpreter in 2020 and is now providing interpreting services (consecutive/simultaneous) as well.
