I am a native Spanish speaker who studied English starting at the age of 6, and I've never stopped studying the language and being in contact with different English-speaking cultures. I am an experienced translator and proofreader who loves the profession, and is focused on being productive as well as detail oriented, and who is determined to provide quality translations.
I studied cinematography for four years in the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires where I passed the final exams for the required three levels of English with As (in lieu of the courses). I also received the First Certificate in English from Cambridge University and I am about to get a degree in technical/scientific and literary translation from the Lenguas Vivas Institute.
As part of my interest and education in film, I have engaged in translation jobs in that area and thus have acquired experience in translating scripts, plot summaries, synopses and other film promotion-related texts. Likewise, I have gained experience subtitling short films and miscellaneous footage. In addition, I have worked translating video games, websites and other multimedia content for clients worldwide.
I lived and worked in Ireland for a year where I also actively participated in different cultural activities and worked as a volunteer for film and theatre festivals.
In summary, I provide translation services in different areas, although my expertise is in arts and entertainment. To conclude, I would like to add that I concurrently work at Subscriptorium, a small translation, transcription, captioning and subtitling agency that I co-founded with my husband, a native English speaker and Spanish-English translator.
