English to French: Single Number Reach – New Features Added to Package B
Source text - English New orders requesting Package B (English and French) will automatically have Personal Address Book and Voice Activated Interface as part of their package. There are no additional charges for these features.
Description of the 2 new Features
Personal Address Book
- Subscribers will now be able to consolidate all their addresses into one convenient place.
- Single Number Reach supports the import from and export to Palm Pilot, Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, ACT! or any other application that imports and exports its data to a CSV (Comma Separated Values) format.
- The Address Book lists the information about the people the subscriber communicates with and the way they prefer to communicate.
- The Address Book can be accessed from both the PC and via telephone handset.
- Subscribers can store contact information and any other relevant information that they may want at their fingertips
- Online Wizards help the customer to set up synchronization
- Data from the Personal Address Book provides added value to other features. For example:
- notification will present the callers name and telephone number
- when making a call subscribers can provide the name of the individual versus inputting the actual the number
- filtering and distribution lists
Voice Activated Interface:
- Natural speech engine which allows the user to use commands that are natural versus specific commands. For example users could specify either listen to messages, get messages or play messages.
- Users must access their account and input their password using touch tones (DTMF) however, once in their account they just press *V to switch to voice commands.
- Like any speech product, background noise will impact the subscribers ability to use Voice Activation.
Note: cannot be used for setting up conference calls as the system is transferring in and out of the account.

Carnet d’adresses personnel
- L’abonné pourra maintenant regrouper toutes ses adresses dans un seul emplacement pratique.
- Le service Numéro unique permet d’importer le carnet d’adresses de Palm Pilot, d’Outlook, d’Outlook Express, de Netscape Messenger, d’ACT! et de toute autre application qui peut importer et exporter des données en format CSV (valeurs séparées par une virgule). Le service permet également d’exporter le carnet d’adresses vers ces mêmes applications.
- Le carnet d’adresses enregistre l’information sur les contacts de l’abonné et la méthode de communication qu’ils préfèrent.
- L’abonné peut avoir accès au carnet d’adresses au moyen du PC et par téléphone.
- L’abonné peut enregistrer l’information sur le contact et toute autre information pertinente qu’il aimerait avoir à sa disposition.
- Les assistants en ligne aident le client à établir la synchronisation.
- Les données qui proviennent du carnet d’adresses personnel fournissent une valeur ajoutée aux autres fonctions. Par exemple :
- la fonction d’identification présentera le nom des appelants et leur numéro de téléphone.
- l’abonné qui fait un appel peut fournir le nom de la personne avec laquelle il veut communiquer au lieu de composer son numéro de téléphone.
- les listes de filtrage et de diffusion.
Interface utilisateur vocale
- Grâce à l’interface vocale évoluée, l’utilisateur peut articuler des mots usuels au lieu de commandes vocales spécifiques. Par exemple, l’utilisateur peut préciser s’il veut entendre ses messages, prendre ses messages ou écouter ses messages.
- L’utilisateur doit accéder à son compte et entrer son mot de passe en utilisant les touches du clavier téléphonique (composition multifréquence). Toutefois, après avoir accédé à son compte, il n’a qu’à appuyer sur *V pour basculer vers l’Interface utilisateur vocale.
- Comme tout autre produit vocal, le bruit de fond a un impact sur la reconnaissance de la parole.

Just as you should not keep all your money in a single financial vehicle, neither should you have all your money in stocks. Building an investment portfolio requires you not only to select investments appropriate for your goals, but to define your investment goals and objectives and then manage those investments.
Diversification, sometimes called strategic asset allocation, is used to reduce some of the risk in investing. Different investments respond differently to economic changes. If an investor can select investments that do not all respond in the same way to these changes, it is possible to reduce, although not totally eliminate, some investment risk.
The “right” asset mix for you will depend on your investment objectives, your investment experience, the economic outlook, the number of years your money will be invested and your tolerance for risk. It has been said that Canadians like safe investments and have shied away from some investments because they were risky.
Sometimes you might consider an investment to be risky because you don’t really understand how it works. It is only when you understand how an investment works and what makes it tick that you can determine whether or not it meets your objectives.
Your portfolio will not just contain stocks. You will also hold some cash, have bank accounts and may even have some Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs) or bonds. The amount you have in cash or cash-like investments depends on how much you need to have available for day-to-day needs, or how much you have waiting for the ideal buying opportunity to add some more stocks to your portfolio. The percentage you hold in income-earning investments, or investments that have guarantees, depends on your investment experience, your risk tolerance and the outlook you have for the stock market.
