Translation process
My approach to translation is pretty straightforward: it should be accurate, on time and – last but not least – idiomatic.
Delivering natural, fluenttranslations is a must to me. As opposed to most people, I strive to be invisible – readers should not suspect the text was translated. Paradoxical as it may sound, the best compliment I can receive is to know my hard work went unnoticed: all you should see is a well-written text in the target language.
Background
Having a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting and over 13 years' experience plays a crucial role in seamlessly translating a text. I can confidently say I have mastered several translation techniques that many would take for granted – and it shows.
Terminology
All this is done while maintaining technical accuracy and ensuring extensive research will be performed: with a host of reliable terminology sources (industry-proven dictionaries and glossaries), you can rest assured the right term will be used in the right context.
CAT Tools
To streamline the whole process, I also work with most major CAT tools, including SDL Studio, MemoQ, Memsource, XTM, Smartling, Wordfast, Wordbee, and others.
