A došli smo mi večeras svi zbog rođendana
A na stolu mnogo jela a i raznih pića
Tu je bilo djevojaka a i par mladića
Kad smo pošli na rođendan Harisa smo zvali
Nije išo jer je imo jedan poso mali
Nema poklon on da dadne a nema ni pića
A kraj Irfe Mirvet sjedi i pomalo drema
A Hasiba kraj šporeta i kafu priprema
Tad se čuje tu u sobi galama i vika
Hasiba nam podvalila tu u kafu mlijeko
Na kauču Haris mali a kraj njega Eka
Tad mi naum pade onaj koga srce voli
Družan pije a do njega sjedi mala Minja
Ode Smajo do šatora dovede Džastina
A i Mirvet malo jede a malo i pije
Uđe Džastin i Hasibi rođendan čestita
A na stolu mnogo halve i sirnica pita
Tad je ljubi kraj Hasibe nako malo stade
Pa izvadi litru pića i Hasibi dade
Tad Hasiba uze litru i piće nam toči
A u šumi neko sječe one male grane
Tada ode pola društva a pola ga osta

Translation - English Birthday Poem
We're gathered here tonight people from all parts and ways
We've come one and all because it's a birthday
On the table plenty food and drinks to be had
There's girls there and a few lads
When we set off for the birthday Haris we called
He didn't come 'cause he had a few chores
He hasn't got a gift to give or any drinks
He had to shoot off to Vojnić
While Hasiba lays the table with dishes and plates
In comes PC Omer through the gate
He stands at the door, looks us all o'er
Greets and toasts us and sits beside Irfo
While Mirvet beside Irfo sits and drifts away
Hasiba at the cooker gets the coffee ready
Then shouts can be heard and cries of fun
While Bajrić takes photos of us all one by one
While he photographs us his bald head reflects the light
The coffee arrives but it's too white
What's that I ask, does anyone see
Hasiba's put milk in our coffee
On the couch little Haris and Eka sitting beside him
She's got a headache but no aspirin
Tetin's on the couch next to Eka
And John's sitting leaning across Seka
I look at Eka and I'm sorry her head hurts her
Then remember the one my heart yearns for
And from pain drink brandy the sadness to smother
I want to be faithful to her and don't want another
Družan's drinking and beside him little Minja sitting
Off goes Smajo to the tent and brings Justin
Mirvet drinks and eats a bite
And toasts with me the one that's not here tonight
Justin comes in and wishes happy birthday to Hasiba
On the table plenty of halva and sirnica
He kisses her and stands there a bit
Then brings out a litre of drink and gives her it
Hasiba takes the litre and pours us all out a drink
Everyone's eyes light up and blink
Dino in the room without company
Then Justin wishes Hasiba returns, many happy
Ibro's wife came too but of Ibro no sound nor sight
He stayed in the room to rest the night
Then everyone with Ija toasts the day
And charades we start to play
Someone tells stories, someone jokes, while the rest laugh
Then Omer's called on the VHF
The situation to go and see
Someone in the wood's chopping the last tree
Then half the company goes and half of them stay on
I'm drunk and hardly cross the bridge home
Why do you drink Tetin when you know it's bad
You haven't got anyone to take you back home to bed.
