Hello,

I have an Enlgish (Britain)>French (France) memory. Can I convert it to English (Canada)>French (Canada) memory? If yes, what is the procedure is Trados AND in SDLX?

Thank you a lot!

Boris

Hi Boris,
I don't know about SDLX, but I think the procedure should be same both in Trados and in SDLX:
1. Export your TM into TMX;
2. Create a new TM (English (Canada) > French (Canada));
3. Import the TMX there.

All the best,

Stanislav

Thank you very much, Stanislav. But I am afraid that since the tmx TM is Br>Fr combination, the units it contains will not be recognized by Canada>Canada combination...

In SDLX Mar 5, 2009

Hi Boris,

In SDLX open the TM in the Maintain module. Select Tools > Utilities > Change Language. In the Change Language dialogue, first select the current source language in the Current Language field and the desired source language in the New Language field. Then do the same for the target language.

HTH

Kind regards,
Claudia

Thanks Claudia, it works! And the Stanislav' suggestion works perfectly in Trados. Thank you to you both!

I knew that.
You can use the same procedure to swap the TM language pair.
