Description | The Chicago Area Translators and Interpreters Association (also known as CHICATA: An Independent Professional Association) is an association of independent freelance and in-house translators and interpreters. The purposes and objectives of the Association are: To promote the recognition of translation and interpretation as professions; to work toward protecting the rights and interests of the professional translator and interpreter; to work toward improving the standards and professional ethics, practices, and competence among translators and interpreters; and to provide a forum for translators and interpreters to meet regularly to exchange ideas and experience. |
