Dutch (native language): 469 characters, 72 words, 5 mistakes English (working language): 393 characters, 65 words, 6 mistakes German (working language): 411 characters, 71 words, 3 mistakes Indonesian (completely unknown language): 326 characters, 42 words, 6 mistakes While I was busy, I didn't feel like there was any speed difference at all, but the results show that the better I know a language, the faster I type it. Everything on the first try: English (native language): 69 words (365 chrs) per minute, no mistakes Spanish (second language): 32 words (276 chrs) per minute, no mistakes Indonesian (unknown language): 38 words (269 chrs) per minute, 2 mistakes Some comments: - Spanish has longer words and accent marks. - "Random" words out of context slows you down.
