English term
bow steer
English to Italian
Tech/Engineering
Ships, Sailing, Maritime
Low Running Angle, due to boat loading or by too much use of the trim tabs: the boat will tend to bow steer, and a speed loss will be noticed.

Term: steer (v)
Definition: To direct the course of a vessel by controlling a rudder or an oar at the stern In practice steering is done by hand at a tiller or wheel, or electrically by an automatic pilot.
Governare to Steer
Term: trim tabs (n)
Definition: Moveable plates mounted under the transom of a fast boat that can be adjusted electrically to help the boat plane with better trim.
Term: trim (n)
Definition: The condition of a vessel that is loaded and balanced properly so that she floats correctly on her waterline. 2) The angle between the sail and the bow, as in, “Set the trim for a broad reach.” 3) The buoyancy and stability of a submarine.

To yaw = to steer abruptly = straorzare ovvero virare improvvisamente, bruscamente, di colpo
I think I have improved the bow by eliminating the hard knuckle of the original Seabright skiffs, which tends to make such boats yaw (bow steer) in a following sea.

www.gommoniemotori.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=188&sid=f1164f... - 112k -
Buon lavoro e... buon vento!:)
