German term
Rückführungsverfahren
German to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
This concerns a Rückführungsverfahren of a child in a dispute between parents living in different countries.
I do not fancy "repatriation procedure" in this context as IMO the emphasis is on getting the child back to a certain parent and not to a certain country. Any suggestions? TIA.

So heißt es in der “EUROPEAN CONVENTION ON THE REPATRIATION OF MINORS”:
“The term “repatriation” shall mean the transfer, in implementation of this Convention, of a minor from one Contracting State to another Contracting State, whether or not the latter is the State of which he is a national. “
European Convention on the Repatriation of Minors, Council of Europe, ETS 71, 28 May 1970

Weiterer Beleg:
“Whose responsibility is it to organise the repatriation of the child?
Are the costs of the actual repatriation of the child (e.g. airfare for child and possible accompanying person) considered as part of the enforcement costs? Who has to pay for the repatriation? Is advance payment a condition for enforcement?”

{family} reunification procedure
I know, this is not usually the term used in disputes. Rather it describes where one member has a resident visa and then wants to bring mamma and papa and all the siblings over, too.
However, you may be able to make something of it.

process of restitution
This search was aided by human geneticists from different parts of the world who provided the scientific basis to establish the genetic identification through "grandpaternity testing," and by mental health professionals who provided the psychological theory supporting ***restitution of appropriated children to their legitimate families***. Thus far, close to 50 ***children have been located, identified and restituted***.

I strongly believe that all the components exist to build a solid case that could turn into one of the few existing examples of parental abduction being addressed through the Japanese judiciary system, supported by NGO's and Chilean agencies with a potential outcome of the ***child being restituted to the mother***, and the abductor being punished at least for his illegal acts according to Japanese laws.
