Perhaps "College" sounds perfectly clear to a British (or European) reader, while "Association" would be clearer to a North American.

College

I don't think we should always be trying to find synonyms - if it says college in Spanish, you should translate it as college. There are lots of examples in English of college being used to mean professional body, like the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Nursing in the UK.
