English term

Saryl

English to Spanish Science Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Estoy traduciendo una patente farmacéutica:

"...wherein any aryl, heteroaryl, Oaryl, Oheteroaryl, **Saryl**, Sheteroaryl, S(O)aryl, S(O)heteroaryl, S(O)2aryl, S(O)2heteroaryl, NHCOaryl, NHCOheteroaryl, NHS(O)2aryl, C(O)aryl or C(O)heteroaryl of Ra is optionally substituted with one or more (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) Ry groups."

S-arilo

from the context it can't be an aryl containing S, because that would be a heteroaryl per definition. Forthermore, in analogy to e.g. NH-SO2-Aryl, it must be S-Aryl, meaning that the moiety consists of sulfur, followed by an aryl ring. It makes sense to claim all O-, S-, SO-, SO2-, NH-CO-, .. aryl and heteroaryl compounds
Note from asker:
You're absolutely right about the definition. I guess I'm just tired (I stayed up almost all night working). Thank you very much for the suggestion and the comment
