IMPORTANT UPDATE 20 MARCH 2020 - THIS POWWOW IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE ONGOING CORONAVIRUS CRISIS
I am more sorry than I can say that, for the first time ever, I am going to have to cancel a powwow of which I am organiser - namely this one.
I had hoped to still be able to host this event, perhaps with enhanced safety precautions, but the strength of current Scottish Government advice, reinforced today, has really left me with no realistic option other than cancellation.
I am so sorry. At this time it is important that all of us, especially freelancers, stay in touch and support one another. In that spirit - please feel free to email me any time at
[email protected], skype me at julian.wagstaff, or call me on 0131 208 5373. As the late, great Bob Hoskins used to say: "It's good to talk".
Take care, stay safe, and see you again when all this is history.
Yours
Julian
Hi folks
Yes, it's that time of year again - time to get signed up for the Edinburgh Translators' spring drinks meetup!
We are planning to meet in AKVA once again, at Fountainbridge at the end of the Union Canal. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow translators, have a drink, swap stories and generally have a good time. Further details about the venue can be found here:
http://www.bodabar.com/akva/

Please sign up below asap if you plan on joining us. And as ever,
PLEASE remember to change your attendance status to 'YES' or 'MAYBE' in the right hand column in the attendance section below, right after you sign up. This is done by logging into your Proz account, and clicking the black arrows in the "Will Attend" column in the table below. (You can always change it to 'No' later if your plans change).
However, can I ask you please
NOT to sign up (and immediately set your status to 'NO') if you already know you can't make it! (Though you are welcome to leave a comment in the 'Postings about this event' section at the foot of the page if you want to tell us that you'd love to attend but can't make it this time :-) ).
This is all very important for me and Ely (my co-organizer) in maximising attendance, and calculating accurate numbers so we can tell the bar staff at the venue.
Thanks so much, and see you soon!
Julian
