I was graduated as an archictect & urban planner, and have worked as such for circa 15 years.
My first English Proficiency Certificate was obtained at the age of 18 from the University of Michigan, USA.
Then I became a private English teacher for Brazilian executives & a Portuguese teacher for foreigners.
I'm also a free-lance Eng>Port and Port>Eng translator. I work alone and autonomously, ie,
I'm a self-employed interpreter & translator, specialized in translating any technical paper, mainly in areas such as: marketing, medical, political, odontological, engineering, planning, etc - both pairs Brazilian Portuguese and English. Sometimes I also work as a consecutive interpreter.
I charge from US$0.05 to U$0.10 per source word of translation, either pair closed : English/Portuguese or Portuguese/English.
The interpreter work in Brazil costs around R$1200.00 a day (maximun 2 periods of 4 hours each), or US$320 per day (meals apart). Experience as consecutive interpreter in business meetings and aid to client visitors to plants here in Brazil, for instance. |
