Native Arabic linguist and localisation professional with over 15 years of experience translating, proofreading, and quality-reviewing English-to-Arabic content across business, legal, technical, and educational domains. My background began with more than four years as a full-time freelance English<>Arabic translator and desktop publisher, providing translation services to reputable companies and agencies in Egypt and abroad across a wide range of fields.

I also worked as a full-time in-house translator for a well-known company in the agriculture and veterinary sector, translating contracts, distribution agreements, product documentation, brochures, and fliers — experience that gave me a strong grounding in legal and technical precision. Alongside this, I've contributed extensive voluntary translation work for nonprofit organizations across Egypt and the Arab world, including serving as a co-translator on the World Health Organization's (WHO) EMRO Partner in Health, 1949–1989, where I was recognized as one of the five best-performing translators on the project.

Building on this foundation, I now bring over 15 years of experience to a broader localisation practice: writing in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), managing terminology and glossaries, and producing Right-to-Left (RTL) desktop publishing for print and digital materials. I'm an experienced CAT-tool user (SDL Trados) with a proven record leading translation teams, running linguistic QA processes, and managing multi-project workflows to deadline. I hold a PMI-PMP project management certification and recently taught Arabic as a second language at the College of the Holy Cross in the United States, adding strong cross-cultural communication skills to my work in product, marketing, and support localisation.

Although my university study focused on linguistics, pedagogy, and English arts, I've built deep specialization in law and contracts, IT, and business — now extended into localisation-specific competencies including MSA writing, terminology and glossary management, RTL/BiDi typesetting, and linguistic QA. I also have particularly strong experience translating technical user manuals for digital photography equipment, including manuals for Nikon, Olympus, and Sony.
