Source text - English PUT RUST TO REST WITH SERMETEL COATING SYSTEMS
No one has to tell you how devastating corrosion is or about its prevalence in saltwater surroundings. The repair and replacement of rust-damaged equipment costs the marine industry many millions of dollars each year; and increased maintenance translates into ineffective use of time and manpower, not to mention morale problems.
There are plenty of marine paints and resins on the market that fight rust, but most lose the battle after only a short time. Frequent reapplication of these coatings is hardly a cost effective solution.
Enter SermeTel. Our patented chemically-metallurgically bonded, advanced technology coatings provide extraordinarily long term protection from corrosion. These totally unique binder systems, which combine ceramic-encased aluminum particles with various phosphates and proprietary additives, prevent rust far longer than nickel-cadmium, platings, and standard marine paints and coatings.
SermeTel systems are based upon an electrochemical mechanism which resists corrosion through controlled sacrificial protection. In other words SermeTel's metallic fillers are much more electrochemically active than the metal surfaces they bond to, so corrosion attacks them first and its deteriorating effects on metal surfaces are greatly retarded. The galvanic protection which SermeTel provides for all steels and many aluminum alloys is also “self-healing”. Coated areas of a metal surface that are scratched, mishandled, or porous will still hold off rust attack despite added exposure.
How long does SermeTel protection last? After 1,000 hours in ASTM B117 salt spray (5% solution), SermeTel- coated mild steel completely held off corrosion. Tested 10,000 hours , there was still no red rust formation. As a point of comparison, most marine paints last only 30 to 60 hours before allowing corrosion.

While elderly ladies take their dogs for a walk, professional dog walkers may have five or six canine companions in tow. At around £10 per dog, per hour, business is good. Come evening, uniformed porters stand at the doorway leading to the basement of no. 44, welcoming members of London's most exclusive night club Annabel's. Walk from Hill Street to Farm Street and you reach a picturesque pub called The Punch Bowl (No.5). A little further, a lane leads to Mount Street Gardens – a peaceful oasis of Japanese trees and birdsong. Leaving the park for the exclusive antique shops of Mount Street, it's hard not to be tempted to indulge in a little more than window shopping, providing your pockets are deep.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
My name is Paola Comeglio, I am italian and I'm a freelance translator (english to italian) since 1984.
I took a High School Degree (Liceo Scientifico) in my home town and afterwards I attended a two- year-course for translator/interpreter at the European School, and then I obtained the First Certificate in English (with grade A) at the British School of Milan. I improved my knowledge of English during frequent stays in U.S.A. where my brother used to live (Boston).
EXPERIENCE AND FIELDS
I was 22 years old when I started collaborating with italian publishing houses (such as Mondadori Editore and Garden Editoriale) as literary translator; my specialties were detective stories and romantic series.
In the same period I enlarged my working network by contacting some private companies and I offered them my FREELANCE translating/interpreting services; by means of these collaborations I improved my skills and technique especially in the chemical, mechanical and footwear field (the area where I live is well know worldwide for the shoes industry).
Afterwards I spent 25 years as IN-HOUSE translator/interpreter for some multinational companies as follows:
- 4 years experience with Daipers Spa – Pavia - field : manufacture of adult diapers machines- foreign department (interpreting and translations;specialties: tech/engineering, operating manuals, reports, technical papers, business, financial, banking, law and insurance documents).
- 4 years experience with John Brown Offshore Ltd – UK- Milanofiori base – during the Bouri Field Project – field: construction and launch of drilling platforms - bilingual secretary for the Project Manager and in-house documents translator for italian contractors.
- 3 years experience with Auva Computer Taiwan – Vigevano branch office - field: import, assembling and distribution of PC – interpreter/translator for the commercial office.
- 14 years experience with CO-MET Pavia – field : construction of heaters, boilers, mixers, underground tanks, storage tanks, for refinery, chemical and food industry) assigned to the commercial and technical office for translations, interpreting, typing and order management.
My hobbies are : travels, sports (I play tennis and I like basketball), jazz music (I play the soprano sax for fun), movies and web.
