I have an MA with Distinction in Translation and Linguistics (German to English) from the University of Westminster (2011).

I have a Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists (Hungarian to English).

I passed the European Union's translation exam (German and Hungarian into English) for their call for applications for in-house translators in Brussels or Luxembourg.

I hold a first-class honours BSc in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, U.C.

I worked in a variety of senior-level management positions in the USA and other countries for nearly 15 years before switching to translations full-time in early 2008.

I was a career businessman until switching to translations. During the course of my business career in the fields of international development & NGOs and corporate operations and administration, I was responsible for various tasks related to communications, including the preparation of marketing materials, business reports and financial statements, meeting agendas and minutes, website content, as well as operations policies and process documentations for staff and clients. I often communicated and liaised with senior-level national and international staff, especially during my time at the World Bank in 1999, and at a German-American NGO in Cambodia in 2007 and 2008.

An avid linguist, I have been actively studying and using foreign languages for nearly 30 years: I speak native English and Hungarian (perfectly bilingual), near-native German, intermediate Spanish and some French. I spent over six years in Austria and Switzerland, 15 years in the United States and other English-speaking countries, and 14 years in Hungary. I have visited 65 countries, acquiring an international perspective that adds distinctive qualities to my work, and developing an in-depth understanding of people and their languages’ cultural, religious and socio-economic complexities.
