Sometimes I only want to use multiterm2007 in conjunction with Word 2007. When I try to select termbases, only the sample is available. How can I get the program to see my other termbases? Do they have to be in a certain folder? Any help would be appreciated...I've given up on Studio 2009 for now, until they release another update...this is from the multiterm ribbon in Word 2007 - I don't have any problem with it otherwise...

Similar problem Jul 29, 2009

Hello Daniel
I have a similar problem, so I would be interested in the answer to this too. I currently have 2 laptops, one running Word 2000 and one running Word 2007. Multiterm works fine on the older Word 2000 system.

I copied the folder containing the Multiterm databases to the same named folder on the newer system, but I can't see these databases in Multiterm. I think that they have to be opened/linked somehow in the new Multiterm system, but they all have strange names -

I copied the folder containing the Multiterm databases to the same named folder on the newer system, but I can't see these databases in Multiterm. I think that they have to be opened/linked somehow in the new Multiterm system, but they all have strange names - so I can't tell which is my Fr-En insurance one, and which is my Sp-En computer one.

Like you, I've purchased Studio 2009, but I've got too much work to do at present, so can't spare any downtime to struggle with implementing it, so I'm sticking with Freelance 2007 for the moment.

MultiTerm 2007 issues Jul 29, 2009

That was the problem I had when I upraded to Studio 2009, my termbases converted but they lost their "names". For other reasons, I went back to Freelance 2007 and everything works fine. In Trados 2007 Freelance, MultiTerm works fine on its own, or in Trados, but if I want to use the multiterm ribbon in Word 2007, I cannot open any termbases because none of them are listed! Hopefully someone will see this who has the answer...

Any solutions on this issue? Jun 30, 2010

I have a Laptop with Vista and Office 2007, a PC running Windows 7 and Office 2007 and Trados 2007 Suite (2008?, 8.3.0.863, Build 863, MT 7.5.0.444, Build 448) running on both computers.
MT doesn't work on neither, WB and TagEditor work on the Laptop, and meanwhile I could manage Trados to work on my PC but still nothing works with Multiterm.

Although I've written to support twice, the only answer I got was an charming offer to upgrade to 2009 Suite, what I definitely don't wan't to do now. I spent enough for this software in the last years (since 2002!) and even have it working 100%.

I tried almost every tips, hints, suggestions and instructions found everywhere, at SDL homepage and Knowledge Base, Proz, yahoo groups and some other without any success. On the other hand, I need to work and can't invest more time learning or finding out some trick on a software I have been using for years!

Side by side tools Jul 1, 2010

Have you tried to activate Multiterm 2007 using "side by side tools"? When you install SDL Trados Studio 2009, Multiterm 2007 is deactivated, and you should reactivate it to use it again, let's say, to use it with its interface in MS Word.

Go to SDL > SDL Multiterm Side by Side Tools > Activate SDL Multierm 2007.

Everything is working now Jul 1, 2010

Hi Constance - I use Studio almost exclusively now - I like it much better than Suite 2007. The issues with the termabases have cleared up. I use Windows7 32 bit and Word 2007 works well with MutiTerm. You should try upgrading - you might like it, too.

Multiterm 2007 is designed in a clumsy way which makes impossible to use it in a standard out of the box Windows Vista/7 configuration.
