I was just wondering the same, I am from Brazil and would that be a general issue on taxes? From one country to another rules change.
Thanks

If you wish to engage new and professional members, then you should think about a way to do so without charging us fees at every turn. Such a course, for example, should be free of charge and not yet another tool for revenues because of its value in the long run, for both parties. This is an initial course and eventually, PROZ will benefit from the participation of new members. I'm sure you realize that and if you are interested to further expand you services, community and quality of service, then you should put some consideration in the matter and "invest" in your potential members as well. It goes without saying that PROZ is not a Pro-Bono or a philanthropic organisation, however it would be beneficial to all if you could find a method that facilitates certain courses or learning tools for free. Thanks. ▲ Collapse

Hello Kelly5,
Thank you for using the website and for your interest in training sessions at ProZ.com.

Hi Myriam,
Thank you for your interest in the session and I am sorry for the belated reply.
As it has been confirmed by the trainer, the content of the course is aimed at all nationalities that translators might have, be it Canadian, Chinese, American or European. The rule is that as a freelance translator one needs to be registered with one tax office at one permanent address of residence. Hope this helps.
My bests, Helen

Participation fee varies from course to course and it is indicated on the top right corner of the training description page. Please be sure to log in to your ProZ.com profile to see and activate the payment options.
Those that purchase a seat in advance may be able to pay an "early bird" or cheaper price, and those that confirm participation later or last minute, may likely get to pay a higher fee. In some training sessions a price increase based on the number of registrants may also apply, i.e. the first 15 registered pay one price, the next 10 pay a a slightly higher price etc.
Early payment is advised in order to secure participation and help reach the course minimum participation - unfortunately, courses may occasionally be cancelled or rescheduled, if the confirmed participation in advance is very low.
Hope this helps and explains.
Bests, Helen
