"Lone's delivery was clear and she has a pleasant voice and a kindly manner. She was patient about answering questions, even those beyond the scope of this course and today she has very kindly sent a follow-up email about certain issues. However I found it quite difficult to keep up and to really assimilate everything, and felt that I'd missed out on some basic steps in some of the procedures as I was trying to write down and assimilate the commands when she'd already be on to the next step! She obviously knows her stuff but is perhaps assuming that the students know more than they do. In addition there were a few instances where a function didn't work (not Lone's fault, necessarily), but in the process of getting it right the confusion just grew. I haven't had a chance to go back and check my notes and try things out, but have to say I don't feel at ALL confident about it. "
"The trainer was competent but had very poor delivery skills, monotone voice, just reading the slides, confused when providing demos. Although she certainly does know the product, she really doesn't have the communicaiton skills to provide effective training."
"The material covered thing I have already known, and the duration in China was 21:00 - 24:00, which was hard for me to focus at the latter phase of the class."
"The main thing that made me disappointed is that the content of the training is so poor. Besides almost $ 100 is too expensive for a three-hour session that doesn't say much."
"Ms Beheshty was very professional and her explanations were very clear. I took the exam the same day and passed at my first try.
Thank you very much!"
"Lone was very thoroughly prepared, I was very satisfied with the material she presented and the way and manner she presented it.
It would have been nice, however, to hear also about the "concordance" feature of memoQ, this being one of their major competitive advantage over other CAT tools, as I heard."
"I really enjoyed the course and it has helped me a lot in advancing in the program. But, I must agree with Gracie, many of the questions were pertaining to previous versions and people were asking many questions for the more advance courses. I still have quite a few questions, but will try to figure out on my own and with the manual. It should be stipulated, maybe for future courses, that it be intended for new users only. Moreover, a course for this Studio 2009 could be given for those who are already working with the old version. Thus, given the newbie’s some more access to beginners questions."
"Ms. Beheshty went above and beyond to ensure that the participants' questions were answered even though many of the issues brought up were not within the scope of the course objectives."
"Just want to say : VERY GOOD, didactic and well presented. The voluntary mistakes and involuntary pbs were particularly helpful - that corresponds to the daily routine of a translator (a function somehow does not work, or we did sthg wrong, or, or, or...). In the manual, everything is perfect, in reality it's good to get info on why sthg goes wrong and on how to get around it!
Extending the session in order to answer all the questions was also extremely nice.
Many thanks to Lone!
Just one disappointment, the Intermediate course on Friday 11th is cancelled. What a pity! I hope another training will come up soon."
"I am using a CAT tool for the first time and found it difficult to follow parts of the webinar. Most of the questiosn had something to do with previous versions of Trados. The time difference was a disadvantage (11.30 pm to 3am after working afull day is not the best setting). Iam very dissapointed that the presenter forgot to record the session so I will not be able to have access to it again. I feel that the only positive thing I have got from this is the manual that is pretty clear . Somehow it was a waste of time for me except for the manual."
"The trainer was pleasant enough, but did not seem to be fully familiar with the software. For a session that was significantly more expensive than a comparable Trados sessions, this was rather disappointing. The trainer did not do much more than read out the slides aloud. And where she did try to show something online, it frequently failed."
"The MemoQ training was simply brilliant, I´d dare say, even captivating. This was one of those training courses where you lose track of time. Thank you Lone, you´re a fantastic trainer! And thank you ProZ.com for making it happen!"
