As Daryo comments in the Discussion section, a brand/marque is intangible, insofar as it is an identity for the trading of products which can be owned and over which rights (e.g. concessions) can be granted. They cannot send their conclusions to the Brand per se, only to the company or person that owns it.

A "brand" being rather intangible, the only way I can see to communicate with a brand is to contact the brand owner, or more likely the brand manager.

Discussion
To make a parallel, if the ST says the "driver of the car" you couldn't translate it "owner of the car" just because the driver is most often also the owner.
Here "la Marque" is basically a right - nothing tangible; you can only talk to the holder of the right - "the brand owner", or his agents for example a "brand manager"
