The proportion (also called the hazard ratio) is the proportion of subjects who die from among those who have survived to a time "t." The term can be applied in fields other than medical statistics, in which case it refers to the failure of a unit being studied, rather than the death of a subject.

Es un termino epidemiologico. Muchas veces se deja sin traducir, y generalmente se utiliza ajustada a la edad o al sexo: age-adjusted hazard ratio. En epidemiologia se llama razon porque es un indicador que compara un hecho con otro que no contiene al primero.
