"Community Management for Localization teams"
Presented by
Gaia Celeste
As the localization industry becomes evermore automated and web-based, small and large LSPs seem increasingly interested in Community Management.
Years ago, many were ready to sentence that technology would replace traditional roles, such as Vendor management, but this trend highlights the strong need for building and nurturing human relationships.
In the World Without Barriers celebrated by this year's International Translation Day, technology is what makes our world a little smaller, humans are who can make it a better place to live in.
This session will explore the ins and outs of managing communities of linguists, looking at the relationship between LSPs and freelancers, and that between freelancers.
We will consider the challenges of navigating virtual communities, and the perks of gaining new colleagues to share ideas with.
Finally, we will touch upon discrimination and safety in the digital workspace and how to guarantee civil collaboration among all members of a professional community.
