Estudié Ciencias de la Comunica...ción, que básicamente se trata de traducir mensajes de un lenguaje a otro, pero mi primera oportunidad de trabajo formal tras graduarme fue como traductora en el periódico de mayor circulación a nivel regional... y muy estricto en sus valores de trabajo.
Esa fue la universidad de traducción más exigente a la que pude haber asistido, ya que me hacía cargo de todo lo que tuviera que ver con el idioma inglés, desde la publicidad y artículos para publicarse hasta los manuales de uso del equipo nuevo, con fecha limite de ese mismo día, sin Internet, ni Proz, ni CAT tools, ni nada que se le pareciera. Y cero errores, porque mi trabajo sería publicado y lo leerían cientos de miles de personas.
Además, no solo era traductora sino que, cuando se necesitaba apoyo extra como reportera, sobre todo en eventos especiales, o como editora de suplementos especiales, también hacia el trabajo.
Dejé el periódico en 1995 y desde entonces soy traductora autónoma de tiempo completo. En ocasiones, he trabajado como maestra de horas sueltas de materias como Redacción, Comunicación, Literatura y Periodismo.
La mayor parte de mi trabajo se ha enfocado a la traducción de diversos textos para empresas, instituciones de salud y educativas, o incluso combinaciones de las tres áreas: Contratos, convenios de licencia, correspondencia, reportes, manuales de uso, material para capacitación, etc.
También me ocupo de traducir grabaciones de audio y video a texto, de hacer grabaciones para voice over y de manipular imágenes si el material a traducir lo requiere.More Less Message: Hola a todos, que gran gusto poder participar y conocerlos. |
